Lore[]
In Cult of The Cryptids Chapter 2 Origin, at Cynthia's Library, there is information giving us more background as to what the statues really are and what they can do. On this piece of paper, we learn that the statues are from The Depths of US and are called Statues Of The Lost. It tells us a little more about their biology, ''These statues are alive and have senses. They Bleed when they are distressed and smile upon capturing a near victim.'' We learn that they can take the form of many figures. They have an intelligence, as it is revealed that an unnamed statue sings to lure children into the sewers. You can avoid them the same way you can in-game, by ''never looking back to avoid death''.
Hostile Statues[]
These statues are hostile entities. They don’t move which means if you walk away they won’t hurt you. They will damage you if you stare at them and will continue to damage you until you reach 1 health. Statues cannot be killed or pacified. They are found across the map.
Non-Hostile Statues[]
These statues can be found in the Asylum, Robin's Housing Projects, and other locations on the map. They may appear as Weeping Angels.
These statues aren’t hostile but they jumpscare the player by turning to face them and making a loud scraping noise.
Statues can be found at the Mall surrounding a sacrificial fire, where if you have the Mime Mask you can burn it to kill the Cult Leader. (The same mask can be burnt in the firepit at the Belltower Ruins near where Big Charlie spawns).
